Emmah Leu
I’m Emmah Leu, your creative partner, detail lover, photographer, & the entrepreneur behind Mauvorney, a multifaceted creative company. My journey began in high school when I launched my fashion blog and picked up my mom’s old Canon camera. That initial spark of passion quickly grew into a business, and over the past 9 years, Mauvorney has transformed into much more than just a girl behind the lens. It’s a space to craft unforgettable stories for businesses, brands, and individuals.
I officially kicked off Mauvorney in high school, but by the time I entered college, I was fully immersed in my entrepreneurial journey. While studying Marketing and Media & Creative Advertising at Indiana University, I was juggling a variety of creative ventures, including running an online women’s clothing boutique (Foster and Ozzy!!!) and coaching student startups in an incubator program. I wore many hats during this time: I freelanced, led the Collegiate Entrepreneur’s organization, designed websites for lifestyle brands, and trained under professional photographers. I also became a finalist for Roolee’s Chief Fashion Officer contest on Tik Tok.
Since 2016, I’ve deepened my photography skills and began focusing on capturing real, authentic moments with a documentary-style approach. Whether I’m photographing a couple’s wedding day or developing a brand’s identity, my work is rooted in storytelling. I strive to capture emotions, moments, and stories that resonate, all while pushing creative boundaries and blending vision with execution.
I have continued to build on the foundation I laid with Mauvorney in 2016, now offering clients a unique blend of photography, branding, and digital marketing strategies. I’m the girl you want to do the brainstorming, vision refining, creative concepting, photoshoots, and more. I'm here to collaborate, think big, and bring your ideas to life.
When I’m not behind the camera or working with clients, you’ll likely find me seeking new adventures- skiing, surfing, ballroom dancing, djiing, learning French, or diving into a new hobby. I love cooking & dancing around my kitchen. I’m a huge music fan, and my playlist constantly rotates between Daisy Jones & the Six, Mt. Joy, Suki Waterhouse, and French music like Zaz.
Chicago is my current homebase, but my work is not tied to one place. I’m always seeking new environments, experiences, and inspirations to bring into my creative work. I genuinely love what I do and feel so lucky that my career combines so many things I love!
Hi. Howdy. Bonjour.
I can’t wait to hear from you!
The heart of my creative work is all about…
Capturing the moments that make life unforgettable—the raw joy, the pure love, and the unspoken stories. From the grit and triumph of a runner’s finish line to the quiet joy of a grandpa watching his granddaughter’s wedding. I aim to preserve the emotions that matter most, in a way that will be felt for generations to come.
